Makomanai Indoor Skating Rink

This indoor stadium was used for the closing ceremony and figure skating/ice hockey events at the 1972 Winter Olympics. It has also been the venue for the 1st and 2nd Sapporo Asian Winter Games (in 1986 and 1990), the Winter Universiade in 1991 and other international events. Today it serves as the stage for the NHK Trophy international figure skating competition, the Japan Figure Skating Championships and ice hockey games.

5 minutes on foot from the Kamimachi 1-chome stop of the Jotetsu Bus (Minami 90, 95, 96, 97 or 98 or Kan 96 routes) from Makomanai Station on the Subway Namboku Line, or 10 minutes on foot from the Makomanai Honcho stop of the Jotetsu Bus (Minami 65 or Kan 56 routes) from Nakanoshima Station on the Subway Namboku Line, or 2 minutes on foot from the Akebono-cho stop of the Jotetsu Bus bound for Minami 4 Minami-machi 4-chome from Nishi Juitchome Station on the Subway Tozai Line
