SAWGOC promoted the 2017 Sapporo Asian Winter Games at TITF (Thai International Travel Fair) held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand from July 14 to 17, 2016. The event attracted a number of visitors seeking travel and tourism information.
TITF is organized by TTAA (Thai Travel Agents Association) and takes place in summer and winter every year. It is Thailand’s largest travel fair for both individual travel and group tours.
Visitors can purchase airline tickets and tours firsthand at the fair, which makes it different from the ones held in Japan.
The 19th TITF featured the Hokkaido Zone, a booth organized by the Hokkaido Shimbun Press to promote Hokkaido. Cities of Sapporo, Asahikawa, Hakodate, Kushiro and Noboribetsu collaborated to showcase an appeal of each city and 2017 Sapporo Asian Winter Games. The booth was constantly filled with visitors.
A survey conducted at the fair showed that Hokkaido is one of the most popular travel destinations among Thai tourists. A visitor in her 20s said: “I have never been to Japan, but I am very interested. I would love to try skiing in Hokkaido. I hope to go watch the Asian Winter Games and enjoy skiing there.”
